Duplicate URLs in MTree causing search engine penalties

There is a really big problem I recently found where Mtree has multiple duplicate URLs per listing if using different categories, and it has diminished the SEO ranks.

can also be found at
http://demo.mosetstree.com/885-leap-year.html

The second URL should have returned a 404 error. This is very very bad if it cannot be corrected 'cos it would mean I have to dump Mtree for a different extension.

I suppose .htaccess directive could fix this but it would require a new line for each category and that would be quite tedious.

Is this a known bug and is it being corrected?
