Readmore button

Can someone please help me?
I am using the HP 1.0b4 in Joomla! 1.5.14 Stable and am having trouble with the readmore function working within the Text Box.
The Editor readmore plugin is activated as well as the readmore function when working in the back end i,e (<hr id="system-readmore" />
</h3> <p>hkmll,kgcdxgikjxfjkkkhccm</p>).
However the effect on the listing template or front page is that it merely adds a line and does not give viewers a "read more" button option.

That does NOT work at all in HP. Read more can only work in articles and NOT in components.
