No Index Alpha, Featured, Popular Page etc

Hi,

I want to no-index most of the listing pages from the search engine such as Alpha Index, Featured, Popular and other similar tagged pages. Actually I don't want duplicate content to appear in the search Engine.

I am using Jsitemap pro and excluded all mentioned pages from the site map but still showing in search engine.
Probably you could be the best judge to let me understand the thing as I don't want to index all similar pages.
I am newbie and don't know how to stop robots to no-follow, no-index these pages.

Detail info on the subject will be appreciated.

Hi,

The best way is to put to robots.txt lines something like
Disallow: /featured/
Disallow: /tag/
...

Change these words what actually you dont want to index. If you will put it like this, it will noindex whole directory so it mean example.com/featured/anything

So just put there any path/directory what you like to noindex.
