Will not install on Joomla 1.6

The first Error I got was:

JInstaller: :Install: File does not exist /home/rcdawv/public_html/new/tmp/install_4d39a5715df0f/com_hotproperty-1.0.1/install.hotproperty.php
Component Install: Could not copy PHP install file.

Then after checking the Joomla wiki I changed manifest.xml file and added the directory to the <installfile>install.hotproperty.php</installfile>

I now get this error:

Copy failed
JInstaller: :Install: Failed to copy file /home/rcdawv/public_html/new/tmp/install_4d39a50b7a7ef/com_hotproperty-1.0.1/back/install.hotproperty.php to /home/rcdawv/public_html/new/administrator/components/com_hotproperty/back/install.hotproperty.php
Component Install: Could not copy PHP install file.

I've tried changing permissions on the folders with no luck.

I'm out of ideas, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Applications coded for Joomla 1.5.x (like HP1.0.1) will not work on Joomla 1.6. There is not legacy mode or other way to have it working besides adopting (upgrading) for new requirements (framework) of Joomla 1.6.

Are there any plans to make Hot Property 1.6 compatible?
