Default Mosets upgrade - keeps giving errors

I have been trying to import data from an old version of Mosets into the new version with no success.

It seems the *_mt_config table is crashing it out.

Is there something in there I can manually change to fix it up?

Some of the symptoms:
- Explorer is no longer available in the admin section
- 404 errors when I drill into the item
- The following error when I click on the Directory menu:
"Warning: Division by zero"

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
The link for reference is: http://www.gettingmarriedmelbourne.com/directory

Mosets database structure hasn't changed in quite a lot of versions.

The best way is a database export and import.

If you have phpmyadmin access to your database then you can export the mosets tables then import into your new database.

As always backup your complete database before attempting any export/import in case things go pear shaped. So you can revert back to original.

Export all your old mt tables and import into your new website.

Mosets example table will look like this EG: jos_mt_links etc. All the *_mt_* tables are the mosets tables.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you just want to import your listings and categories...

The mosets tables which comprise of your categories and listings are,

jos_mt_cats
jos_mt_cl
jos_mt_links

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply.
I copied the tables over that you mentioned, which has imported all of the categories and listings. I am now getting a 404 error when I try to view the listing detail:

Do you happen to know what might be happening here?

The link you have provided actually sends me back the home page on the front-end... was it supposed to do that?

I found the Rebuild Tree, Recount Cats/Listings under the Tools menu and was able to run them. They ran successfully, but I am still getting the 404 error.

Thanks for looking into this for me.

In the same place you clicked recount cats and listings under the tools menu.

Click rebuild tree option. Then click on the recount cats and listings option in the tools section.

Apologies for the link above. This has moved in mosets 3.

See if that helps.

Still no joy unfortunately...

I have turned off SEF Urls for the time being to see if it gives any clues. This is a full link to an item that gives a 404. Can you see anything obvious in the URL?

Another thing I've noticed is that I cannot update any of the categories now that I have imported the tables.

Certainly a very weird issue.

Have you updated to mosets 3.0.5?

I got it working!!

There was something wrong with the *_mt_cats table. I ended up recreating the categories manually then importing *_mt_links and *_mt_cl data. Rebuilt the tree and recounted the listings and all is well!

Thank you so much for your help. Sometimes sharing the problem helps me to think more creatively about the solution. I'm very grateful.

No problems and good work.

What you done should have worked in the first place.

But ol murphy strikes again

Glad to hear it's sorted.
