Default Advanced search on the front page

Hello,

newbie (possibly dummy) question about searches:

I want the front page search to be more sophisticated, with min-max price, number of bedrooms etc. How do I add fields to this module?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice and help offered.

Andrew

Default I hope this helps some people out.

The only way to do this is to use an additional extension that will allow you place HTML code inside a module - and position this on your home page.

The easiest way is as follows.

1 - get your advance search to function as you wish the 'homepage advance search' to function as you would like. To do this follow these instructions by warrickoliver (post #20 ).

2 - then goto the advance search page and "view source". Look for the <form> code below advance search heading and copy all until to the closing </form> tag. Save this code in a text document.

3 - install this component

4 - copy your saved form code into the HTML code snippet box and position it on your home page. Don't forget to enable the module.

That should do it.

Default Where IS the advanced search?

Hi,

I am finally biting the bullet and trying to get a search form which acts dynamically and looks decent. I have read about setting up Advanced Search function, but I can't find the damn thing!

Any clues? I assumed it would be in the modules area, but no. Nor does it appear to be in HP itself under the components menu.

Please give me a pointer!

Thanks
Andrew

I want the same kind of search module. According to the post of warrickoliver, I have to find in "extra field" the text "there are no extra fields" but there's any text like that.

Please, can somebody explain how to do this, in the clearest way posibble?, This is the first time I word with this component.

Thanks

After all these years, it still works where ever you are. I used it to put the advanced search on the front page of Mosets. I've done this before, but sometimes the common-sense approach gets forgotten. Thank you so much for this post.
