Default Joomla mysql_num_rows bug

Hello,

I am using Mosets Hot Property 1.0 on my client's website and I am experiencing this error
Code:
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /public_html/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 344
after I navigate around the Hot Property front-end component.

Here are the steps I take before the error appears.

1. Navigate to the property types page and select a property type.
2. Select a property listed under the property type and visit the property page.
3. Click on the property's property type and return to the property type listing page.
4. Change the ordering of the properties using the ordering controls.
5. Visit another property, then click a custom link that takes the user back to the main page that shows all of the property types. Here is the custom link code I have added to views > properties > tmpl > property.php
Code:
<a class="viewall" href="<?php echo JRoute::_('index.php?option=com_hotproperty'); ?>" title="View all properties"><?php echo JText::_('ALL PROPERTIES'); ?></a>
. I am assuming this code should not be causing problems with Joomla and its database code, but I cannot say for sure.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Mike

I think the issue is in the "go back" link. It doesn't pass the limit, ordering etc. parameters.

Try instead:
Code:
<a href="javascript: history.go(-1)">Back</a>

Hello,

I have tried removing my custom link code, but the same MySQL error is displayed after going through the steps I highlighted above.

I am using Joomla 1.5.22 and the server is running PHP 5.2.14 and MySQL 5.0.77.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I could not replicate the error on HP 1.0.1.
It's necessary to check your particular HP files, as it seems they were modified.

Hello,

The only PHP files that have been edited are the view tmpl default.php files. I have removed all of the custom HTML and PHP that I added and the problem still exists.

This MySQL error has been discussed a few times on the joomla.org forum. Here are some links: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=2265884 and http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=1560107

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Mike
