Default Double listing description

Hi,

With moset's 3 and SEO new feature, i have duplicate description.

I don't think it's good for google.

It's possible to desactivate it?

I use sh404sef allready.

To rectify the double meta titles you will need to modify mtree.php file. You will need to comment out 3 lines of code in the categories, summary and details sections.

BACKUP YOUR MTREE.PHP BEFORE YOU START In case something goes wrong.

You will find mtree.php file here.

components/com_mtree/mtree.php

Open mtree.php using editor.

Locate # Add META tags sections and comment out using // tags at the beginning of the line of code around line number 600.

Example below.

Code:
# Add META tags
		if ($mtconf->getjconf('MetaTitle')=='1') {
			if( $cat_id == 0 ) {
// LF - Leonard Fitzgerald Commented out this line to remove extra title tag >>>> $document->setMetadata( 'title' , JText::_( 'COM_MTREE_PAGE_TITLE_ROOT' ) );

} else {

// LF - Leonard Fitzgerald Commented out this line to remove extra title tag >>>> $document->setMetadata( 'title' , htmlspecialchars($cat->cat_name) );

			}
		}
and this one as well somewhere around line 2700.

Code:
# Add META tags
		if ($mtconf->getjconf('MetaTitle')=='1') {

// LF - Leonard Fitzgerald Commented out this line to remove extra title tag >>>> $document->setMetadata( 'title', htmlspecialchars($link->link_name));

		}
		if ($mtconf->getjconf('MetaAuthor')=='1') {
			$document->setMetadata( 'author' , htmlspecialchars($link->owner) );
		}
Sorry I cannot tell exactly which line numbers as my mosets mtree.php file is heavily modified and line numbers will differ to the standard. But around lines 600 and then around line 2700 you will find these codes.

This will remove the double meta page titles.

NOTE: This will need to be redone every time you update mosets tree as mosets will overwrite the mtree.php file during update.

Good luck.

Hi Lenfitz,

Thank's for your help!

I'll make that.

I hope Lee'll correct that for the next update.

After i don't know if it's good or bad for SEO.
