Multiple users with restricted access possible?

I have previously used Joomla and Hot Property to build a real estate site managed by a client (basically a single administrator). It works great. However, is it possible to use Joomla/Hot Property to manage a user driven real estate website?

Is it possible to restrict their access so they can only see and modify their own properties?

Is it possible to restrict their access in such a way so that, when they log in, they'll be taken straight to the Hot Property component admin area and basically be unaware of the fact that they're in Joomla at all?
