embedding pdf into

Hello out there
I'm wondering if anyone could help me with inserting a pdf into the desription field for a listing ?
Does it need to be an actual url,or relative?
The pdf is in the media section of my site's backend, but i think I saw in instructions to us absolute, not relative
I'm using the script for embedding , but nothing seems to happen
Really would appreciate some help
