Default Multi-language content (categories)

Hi,

We are developing a multi-language directory (spanish and catalan) so we created both .ini files from the original en-GB.com_mtree.ini. We've had no problems in translating the default strings within the component and its modules but the problem appears if we want to set multi-language categories and custom fields because these content types do not have any language option and obviously they are not included in the .ini files.

Anybody knows how could we do that or if is it possible to set the component contents such as categories and custom fields in multiple languages?

Many thanks!
