Hi pimito,

Many thanks for pointing this to us! Is it same as saying English Language & American Language? You know, I have a friend from Holland that mentioned once about his native language being Dutch. And I had a client that I have made a multilingual website for, and one of the domains he used was name.nl, and the Netherlands language file was attached to it

Never been there, that's why it is always nice to find out interesting facts about places you don't know...

Watch out with these language packs. I've used a lot of them, and I dont know if people are using online translators. But i've gotten people who their native language is French, Italian, and Spanish to look at these. And a lot of them were saying the translations weren't correct.

I'll upload the ones I have in the next couple of days. Kinda busy right now, but I always keep my promises. (Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, Farsi).

[fyi]

Lol no, we dutch folks just like to have many names for our small country, maybe so it looks bigger

Dutch ppl are from Holland or The Netherlands, this is exactly the same meaning.

Dutch ppl speak dutch. Dutch ppl do not speak Hollandisch or Netherlandisch or something.. there is just one proper word for dutch language and thats 'dutch' .

However translating the english word for our language 'dutch' to the dutch version gets us 'nederlands'. In this context nederlands does not mean netherlands but dutch. (refering to the language itself)

So, if you offer language packs to the world you'd put DUTCH.php there, if you offer language packs to dutch ppl and you wanna be nice you could put NEDERLANDS.php there and dutch ppl would feel instantly at home when we see that file

Complicated? yep! just like your component

[/fyi]

Hi!

I have updated the german language of HP a bit. Some of the translated terms were not so common in german.

Hallo Leute,

mein Englisch ist wirklich schlecht.
Ich möchte gern das Adminbackend von Hot Property auf deutsch haben. Gibt es eine Lösung?

Soweit ich weiß, gibt es das Backend noch nicht auf deutsch.
Du müsstest es also wahrscheinlich selber übersetzen.

and know in English for all others:
...as far as in know the admin-backend don´t exists in german language.
You have to translate it on your own.
Antoher way is to use Google to find other German sites usind HP. Maybe they share the backend translation with you.

Hallo Danke erstmal.

MfG
Pompeius

Default German Language Pack for Admin Area

Hi, just a question (pretty new to this site here).
Has anybody got a FORMAL GERMAN language translation for the admin area of hot property (informal would do, too)?

My client's secretary speaks no English at all (disaster!!!), and I am a bit tired of getting called by her every 10 minutes with her asking me what "property" meant etc.

Please, please, please, can anybody help? :-)

Thanks in advance!!!

Ciao, Titus.

Excuse my ignorance please, but how, pray tell, can I allow my users to choose a language for my site? I'd like the default to be English, but I'd like to offer French as well.
I download/ unzipped and placed the files (french.php, french2.php and french3.php) to the correct folder and I see the options for language in the Hot Property Admin, however now I am unsure how to set it so a user can choose which language.

Question 2:
Will this translate ALL elements and fields?

Question 3:
Why 3 french.php files? Which do I use and how?

Thank you for your patience and help!

Cheers!

Talking Language

Hi Roland,
on this..... maybe I can help you a bit...
Ounce the languages are there, you need to upload the mambel fish component http://mamboxchange.com/projects/mambelfish .... Then do all the configurations and you need to have properly uploaded the content elements (hp_contentelements), the rest is only question to make the proper translations for the propertie, extra fields etc. etc. (also all the translations for the modules, captions and so on... is a bit long... but it works almost for all... see my site www.veronicaimmobiliare.com/joomla .... i'm still waiting the good (I'm not so good in making them) tronslations for the text of the menu bar sections... but it will be done in few days..... I was able to make it almost alone.. so for you it will be just a joke!!!!
Let me know.. I'll try to exchange my little experience....
Take Care
ciao
