I have Developed a new Component call it Country Manager HPv (for Hot Property )

I would like to introduce Country Manager HPv to you.

This component help you to manage your properties in levels of categories as Continents, Countries, State, Cities/Towns, Regions/District. it works as category system, and your client will be able to see properties in one location and switch between property types. This Component has integrated with the Hot Property Component from Mosets.com. It has more configurations and it works with SEF - SEO and SEF Advance.and it works with Register Globals Emulation.and integrated with SubTypes,Multicats and Joomfish. Tested in Joomla 1.0.13.

Features :
- Install and start working.

No you need to do HACKS.
Just to validate user input to Hot Property.
- five levels of location management can be connected to any core fields
(Continents/Countries/States/Cities/Regions)
- Back-End to add/edit/delete/publish/unpublish/reorder any location
- six key Modules :


1. Location Ajax :
select one Country then using Ajax to load all
States for That Country. then if you Select one State
you load all Cities for that State. and the same for City.

Farther more it will change the selection of location to
locate your place in the site while you are browsing.

2. Continent Menu : List of all continents.

It's since last year that I've been trying to reach for rajab and his country manager (mails, contact forms, PMs on this forum...), but I didn't receive any answer!!
I need the module ASAP, did anybody buy it or used it?

A multicountry component should work with a multilanguage one!!
by the way, you forgot to put prices and a way to purchase in your site!!

...and a "countries" module showing featured or preferred countries will be very well accepted.

this component looks great - I'm creating a site which rather than displaying properties displays locations where people can volunteer around the world. I've created all my country and continent lists but don't know how would assign a "property" to the country that the placement is in. The placements can be in lots of different countries and so I would need to ability to assign each "property" to potentially more than one country - can you do this with your component?

if you sent a mail to mosets developers, don't expect answer any soon,they are known to be not very responsive.
About translation, I know every admin can set his language, but since you're offering properties in other countries (in which people speak other languages), you're naturally oriented to a multilanguage audience. The bad about foreigners is that they don't usually understand your language so, believe me, is far better trying to meet their expectations providing them with a more suitable idiom!!
This is why it would be great to have a multilanguage ready component...

just curious to know if anyone have tested this HP country manager and how good it works really?

How good and fast is it when searching/browsing for different cities and states with a lot of content there?
Hope it indexing fine and is fast!

Another thing that I have done already 1996 is that it should be able, on the lowest level = city - place, to create your own city - place but that could only be published temporary for a max time like 3 months and will also disappear automatically if nothing is published in that level city - place. That help you have also smaller cities, places where ads where content (property listings, news etc) could be announced.....

That time we also could set up content on the different continent, countries and city levels pages for ads, news, by nested menus. As it is now you click on a menu HP country manager and then you go to USA-California-San Jose where you find your properties. If you click on the menu on the left then you come to the main page news again---not the news in San Jose about properties etc etc

well hope that Joomla will take this step in future just waiting long time for this to happend. :rolleyes:

I do understand that you are buzy and focused about your own product developments and many other projects.

But I also have tried to contact you many times without any call back so I don't know what to say.

We discussed a one week HP project job + that I buy that HP component too, starting this monday you said.

Bcs I didn't get any response from you and we didn't do a spec for the work I will not pay you in advance until we at least have a written agreement about what should be done. I think that is fair so we both about the expectations for both sides.

Hope you understand.

I want to support you about this component but also as we discussed agree for a HP project work too.

So pls take your time and come back when you have dedicated time as you said.. maybe within two- three weeks so we both can plan when this project can start up!

Good points and question Teddy, hope Rajab will come back with some answers. This is some of the questions that I have too.

- How about free upgrade in future and the road map how this will be developed.

- how do you get that product seems not to be downloaded

- how can I see a working back end demo etc

So this is some small questions that I hope Rajab will fix soon.

The structure of a product like this is that I rather prefer a solution where you have this as a standard Joomla component and then have some plugins for different component like Hot Property, Mosets Tree etc. Like this workflow structure http://www.w3webdesign.nl/overview.pdf


In that way it should benefit for a larger crowd and Rajab would earn more money offering this for the whole Joomla community.

Its a GPL Joomla component called "Deep Pockets II" where you can set up some kind of your own categorizing structure, multiple levels of categories but its limited in use with this kind of structure. But its not integrated to be used with other components too like HP 0.98.

Its missing many wanted features like cant publish a deeppocket item on the frontpage, front-end users/publishers could edit contents and not only from back-end side, not able to search Deep pockets subjects etc.

And could not be integrated with other components? I don't know how to fix that.

Anyhow I like Rajabs Country Manager and hope he continue to develop this in the right way! I will use it in future with first HP 0.98 and then maybe later if he succeed to make this a Joomla component too.

Well I hope that he is continuing develop this not focusing on other ideas just now so the new version is out, which version I don't know.

The only thing I am missing is that this component as an option should work to be setup integrated with Mosets tree on the front page directly with browsing capabilities.

Otherwize you can build your own structure with Deep Pockets II and almost have the same component/menu structure. Now you have to click on a menu to have a browsing structure for a world wide index. This is old thinking not be able to linking more content tags/ids to this kind of hierarchies structures.

But I like this component anyhow bcs its a good step forward and think its match HP very well to quickly integrate this kind of feature.

I will give it a try when the new version is out and when it also supports joomfish!

Well, I have not heard anything since the last mail when he should start a project work for me with integrating this component, so I think he is very buzy unfortunately.

I have sent many mail to this guy to take this a step forward without any answer unfortunately. :( so any skilled Joomla/HP guy that have time to customize a HP 0.98 with good CSS design and some final integration hack give me a buzz! :-) I have everything ready to make the final touch of this site now. I have been looking at your demo http://www.ahamcoproperties.com and have some suggestion for visual improvment that shows how many listings are present for different property type and also for different locations/countries/cities etc.

For example for the search module you can add how many listings there are.

Like;

- Search "Property type": show how many there are in the different property types

- Mainsonettes (6)
- Villa (4)
etc

- Search "Country type": show how many listings there are in the different countries

Aaland (2)
Afganhistan (0)
etc

And the same for the "Continent Module" for listings in different countries (cities/locations).

- Africa (9)
-- City xx (3)
- Asia (4)

etc I think you understand bcs then people will know if there is any listings there and if you have time settings many comes and many goes..:p

What a pity! A lot of work has been needed to make this component and it fully answered my request after browsing on the demo pages of Country manager. Even at a cost of 75$!
Natash seemed a very positive person though! (After many attempts to receive a mail answer to my info queries)
Unfortunately: Country Manager is highly bugged! I had two top level programmers to check:
.... “The best way to view the errors is to switch from Joomla's back-end the error reporting mode to "Maximum" and to try to run the component. I use the latest XAMPP (PHP/MySQL5, Apache 2), and even cannot have the component rendered OK with the "Maximum" mode...”
Further: I offered Mr. Mr: Rajab Alnatshah to pay further “tuning” & “repairs”:
No answer...? Amazing: His answer was to: Cancel me from registered clients!

Now: I am looking for a programmer to rebuild it!

Further (I forgot to say) I was the person who asked Natash to contact Gray (justphp) to link their hack...!
Natash made the effort to issue version 1.I.3 with the sub-hack ...
Only to be thanked by throwing me out of his client list because I sent him a legal warning letter;
I suppose that to pay & (+ offer more money for repairs) make a positive action should deserve more consideration... even from a Moron! I have asked Paypal for a refund anyway !

Maybe there is something wrong with the log in at his site bcs I am not able to log in there too lol. :eek: hmmmm I really hope Rajab have enough time to fix all these bugs before coming out with the next release bcs the idea is right doing this CM and I think many want this Joomla feature too.

I should buy this product now too when its stable and ready for use to set up my site, ie version 1.3 I was planning. Should be released soon...

I also see that he raised the price 10 USD, now is 75 USD instead of 65 USD but thats ok for me i f the product he releases is well tested of course.
But I don't think he let someone help him with bug testing etc

At the same time I just got the feeling that those free time developers soon reaching the limit where, if you compare listing products like ESVON with Joomla paid add-ons http://www.esvon.com/pg/products/p_cl_realty/, the value of going for this Joomla concept diminishing quickly i f you only want to set up a real professional real estate site, that also must have potential for the future support and development. The only thing that I really cares for is that i f the main developers just disappear that you can continue with the core code ( your addon bought) that should not be encrypted. If they look this in I will not go for it, then its better to develop this your self.

So one question is also to compare if its worth to go for a Joomla - Realty HP - Region module future engagement? :rolleyes: if you not get well developed, good service and non encrypted components? I mean if you pay for something you also need support, feedback, future enhancements and future security that the software will be maintained.

So lets look at some figures and investment that is right now between those softwares Esvon and a Joomla real estate configuration:

That region/country manager Esvon module costs 129 USD and is professionally developed and taken care of.

Joomla is a lower price but lacking stability of 3:rd party developers. So this is its weakness but also its strengths you can say.

The difference 585 USD

So for the short run Joomla,. HP and Country module is for sure a better pricing option but only also bcs of the good Joomla community, the flexibility for having many add-ons not encrypted.

But If I was o n l y focused on a real estate listing software and want to pay a little higher premium price and also looking for best quality, support and features I would go for ESVON.

And if you would like to have the best of the worlds for flexibility setting this up from almost zero I would go for Drupal!:cool:

But: If you purchase a component you espect that a good programmer can clear the bugs .. in 48h : but there ...
If natash releases a proper work : I shall be the first one to praise him and advise fellow HP users to purchase it : 75$ is nothing compared with the time needed to write such piece of work.

Well thats exactly what I mean about getting into the encryption trap with none future support and possibility to make any progress if needed.

You will have big trouble when people like Katty is dropping further dev and its encrypted. They don't understand that they lose a lot of business when taking these steps. Same happens with Jreviews and I happy I didn't buy that component even that its really great.

Its all about trust - if these all integrated software is great, people will also contribute to pay devs for their efforts - it simple as that. :eek:

I see that SOBI2 also develop good now for doing this kind of stuff så hopefully there will be more enhancement for HP 0.98 also making it work natively for Joomla 1.5 ?? SOBI2 have more support in the forum too and that make me wonder of the future of SOBI2 and Mosets....

Well I bought this component now from Rajab and will try it later next week - I hope to do this with the 1.3.1 version coming out later.... I will move to a new web hosting so hope that this will going smoothly..will coming back with report how things going...:p

I'm using MVC Framework which let us use Country Manger not for one application.
just by adding New 'View' you can have Country Manger work with any Component.
and even more..

like in hot property.
you need to list Properties in Location.
but some need to list users/ Agents/ Companies/ and other.
Like Mosets Tree..

so they can work under one Country Manager.

Please. if anyone need more features to add to the component that will help..

Country Manager is using HP and Joomla CSS Classes as if you change
the CSS in HP the some change will be in Country Manager too.

Do you want to have separate CSS file for Country Manager.
I think having that is good but will extra work when you change
the Classes..

Give me your feedback , maybe i will add this to Country Manager 1.3.2
